Full Seats and Light Seats: how to count the people who need a CRM

Not everyone who touches a CRM works in it all day. How to sort your team into Full Seats and Light Seats, and cut the bill without cutting access.

Two kinds of CRM user

In most companies a small group lives in the CRM: sales reps, account managers, customer success. A larger group dips in and out to check a deal, read a note or approve something. Charging both groups the same price is where CRM bills tend to grow faster than the value the team gets.

FlowCRM separates the two. Full Seats are for people who work in the CRM every day. Light Seats start from $3 per month, vary by plan, and are meant for occasional users.

What the numbers look like

Full Seat prices, billed annually, are $10 on Starter, $18 on Team, $30 on Business and $55 on Enterprise, per seat per month.

Each Full Seat can be paired with up to 5 Light Seats.

A simple way to sort your team

Walk through your list of people and ask one question for each: does this person create or update records most days?

  • Yes: a Full Seat.
  • They read, comment or approve now and then: a Light Seat is likely enough.
  • They never open it: no seat. Share a report instead.

Check before you commit

Seat capabilities can differ by plan, so confirm what a Light Seat includes on the plan you are considering. The pricing calculator lets you vary the Full and Light mix and see the effect on the total. For the wider picture, read the real cost of a CRM.
